Organisation:
Australian Growing Solutions (AGS) is a manufacturing business located in Tyabb on the Mornington Peninsula. AGS prides itself on maintaining a high standard of quality growing media for the nursery industry.

The position is for a part-time casual Laboratory Technician to work dayshift in a busy manufacturing environment.
The position requires minimum 3 days per week. Hours of work will be between 8am and 4pm Tuesday to Thursday and additional hours as required. Ongoing opportunity with the option to transition to full-time position in the future.

Position Details
The key responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician are to:

  • Undertake and ensure the day-to-day product testing program is completed to AGS’s QA standards.
  • Document all test results
  • Evaluate all test results against AGS and Australian Standards
  • Ensure that raw materials, composts and finished products are sampled and tested in accordance with AGS’s quality requirements.
  • Liaise with production staff on quality related matters.
  • Ensure that the requirements of AGS’s quality management system are communicated and adhered to.

The Laboratory Technician may also be required to undertake research projects and studies as directed by the QA Manager.

Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role you will require:

  •  Laboratory experience
  • A positive commitment to personal safety and the safety of others
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities from multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Computer skills including MS Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint

It may also be advantageous for applicants to have the following:

  • Horticulture experience and/or interest
