Purpose of Position
This position involves all aspects of delivering products to a defined standard in the most efficient manner possible. Comply with work health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for the production team and is responsible for the production of all bakery products in line with your apprenticeship.
This position requires full availability 7 days a week including a reasonable amount of overtime depending on business needs. It is fully accountable for ensuring that the appropriate processes, systems, and checks are incorporated into the production area in conjunction with the Production Manager and in line with your apprenticeship.
This position has a production focus within the bakery/cafe. This position provides support to the production manager on all aspects of the production operation.
Responsibilities
This position involves all aspects of Banjos Bakery Café production processes.
This role includes but is not limited to;
- Front Counter Service sales techniques including but not limited to detailed visual merchandising skills, cash handling, loss prevention, general cleaning, wrapping and packaging of goods, pricing and ticketing, stock display;
- Preparation, implementation and coordination of production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
- Follow and monitor the daily production operations of the business, including food preparation and handling, product and material purchasing.
- Follow and assist in training of employees of a lower classification in all required tasks and duties set out in the Banjos Bakery Café’s relevant Policies and Procedures Manual;
- Ensure the principles of Banjos Bakery Café are integrated into all facets of the production processes.
- Deliver the ability to educate and train employees of a lower level, implement processes and procedures and ensure all aspects of training programs are current and accurate.
- Work as a team to ensure a high standard of customer service;
- Comply with all work health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with current legislation.
- Answers phone calls from the workplace or responds to all phone calls and emails in a timely manner
Qualifications/Experience
- Undertaking a trade apprenticeship of a minimum Certificate III in Baking, or equivalent
- Understanding and knowledge (or ability to gain) of Privacy, WH&S and Anti-discrimination legislation
Duties and Tasks
(All duties and tasks will be in line with the individuals relevant Apprentice level)
- All aspects of Banjo’s production.
- Produce products to Banjo’s standards
- Operates all production machinery.
- Applies quality control for product.
- Inspects and approves products, under guidance of the Production Manager.
- Delivers high standard customer service.
- Cash handling
- Training (limited), under the guidance of the Production Manager
- Disseminate product information.
- Provides assistance and feedback for product forecasting and research.
- Maintains paper-based filing/records systems in accordance with set procedures.
- Complies with WHS requirements (including food safety).
- Achieve agreed individual targets.
- Set and maintain high personal standards for the team to attain.
- To continually progress training through BREAD.
- Any other duties as directed by Production Manager/Franchisee.
- Be familiar with Work Health and Safety management systems and support compliance within your areas of responsibility;
- Enforce hygiene standards and sanitary practices in all aspects of the kitchen, and restaurant, including food preparation, handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen areas;
- Comply with all work health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with current legislation.
- Bakery and equipment cleaning
- Provide assistance in training staff of a lower level where required;
