Casual Bin Maintenance Officer - TAFE Students Preferred null

Job Description: The City of Stonnington is undertaking a significant bin lid replacement project and is seeking casual employees to assist in meeting project timelines. The primary responsibility of this role is to work collaboratively within a small team to replace community bin lids. This process involves meeting at the Depot at 4:30 a.m., distributing new bin lids, replacing existing ones, and returning the old lids for recycling. The truck also needs to be prepared for the same shift the following day.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Meet at the Depot at 4:30 a.m. and work with a small team to replace community bin lids.
2. Return old bin lids to the Depot for recycling and ensure the truck is prepared for the next shift.
3. Adapt to varying shift lengths based on your availability and daily requirements, with casual shifts available from Monday to Friday.
4. Assist in maintaining accurate stock levels of mobile garbage and garden waste bins.
5. Keep the bin storage area orderly and clean.
6. Receive bins at the Council's depot, assemble bins for delivery, and perform necessary repairs as required.
7. Install bin tactile symbols and RFID tags as needed.

Requirements:

• Ability to work early morning shifts, starting at 4.30  a.m.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry bin lids.
• Flexibility in shift lengths based on daily requirements.
• Strong organizational skills in stock management and bin storage.
• Willingness to contribute to a team effort and work outdoors.
