About the placement

This internship is with Complementary Medicines Group and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.

As an intern with Complementary Medicines Group, you will assist the Quality Assurance team in various aspects of product testing and compliance. Responsibilities will include testing incoming materials, intermediates, and finished goods, managing retention samples, and assisting with creating and maintaining Quality Management System (QMS) documentation. The intern will also help maintain systems for change control, deviations, risk assessments, and customer complaints. Additional tasks may include performing in-process quality checks (IPQC) in production, assisting with product stability programs, validating equipment, and interpreting laboratory results. 

Work arrangements

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Working arrangement: Full Time or Part time for 200 hours on a fixed term contract 
  • Remuneration: $25/hour plus super on a temporary contract with Complementary Medicines Group
  • Location: Warriewood, NSW. 

Desired capabilities

  • Studying a Pharmaceutical Science, Biomedical Science, Microbiology or Chemistry related qualification
  • Knowledge of Therapeutic Goods Order (TGO) is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance in pharmaceutical products is beneficial
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel skills for data analysis 
  • Strong organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate qualification.
