About the Role

We are looking for our next Wool Technical Support Officer to join our progressive wool team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Working at our purpose-built wool selling centre, you will work working closely with our wool team to provide an excellent customer experience as well as marketing support to wool growers, buyers, and the Elders network. You will be working in a new, state-of-the-art facility with all the support and technology at your fingertips to ensure your success.  

This is an exciting opportunity which may suit recent graduates or those looking to launch their career in the Australian wool industry.

Responsibilities

Supported by the dedicated wool team, you will:

  • Work with experienced leaders to prepare and run weekly wool sales
  • Gain the skills to type and appraise wool
  • Understand who buyers what wool types and build relationships with processors
  • Provide market information for our clients
  • Gain an understanding of our new rehandle operation
  • Become part of the weekly auction team

About You

  • Knowledge of shearing, wool operations and the broader ag industry would be an advantage
  • Completed, or be willing to commence, a wool classing certificate
  • A passion to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders and build strong relationships
  • Aptitude and curiosity to embrace innovation and the latest technology
  • Be a true team player with a can-do attitude is a must
  • No prior experience is needed, just a passion for the Australian wool industry
