We are looking for individuals with a passion for music teaching and nurturing young minds.

  • Music undergraduates and music graduates are invited to apply for these positions, whether on a part-time or casual basis.
  • Experienced teachers including former Forte and current Forte teachers from other schools are also welcome to apply.

Successful applicants (who have no teaching experience in Forte courses) will be required to undergo a short period of training and orientation on the Forte teaching methodology.

  • The training period for teaching group lessons including paid co-teaching may take up to a total of 8 hours over 4 consecutive weeks.
  • A training allowance will be paid upon successful completion of the training.
  • Applicants who wish to teach only individuals (one-on-one) may also require a short period of familiarisation with the Forte methodology before commencing teaching.

Upon completion of the teacher training for teaching group classes, the teacher will be awarded the certification of an accredited Forte Teacher.

  • This will stand the teacher in good stead in the teacher's continuous development of music teaching skills especially with children.
  • The qualifications and experience gained at our school will be invaluable to the teacher who has aspirations to embark on a music school/studio business in the not-too-distant future. Forte teachers will also have access to the invaluable information-rich guidance of the Forte teacher training modules and resources.

A considerable number of teaching hours is assured upon completion of the training and there are opportunities to teach for most days of the week.
We are located very conveniently 75m from Mt Waverley train station!

All applicants for this teaching position must have a current Working With Children Check – this is a strict requirement of the position. The successful applicant will need to provide sufficient evidence of this check (either your card or the applicant's receipt).

If you are interested in the position, please fill in the attached Teacher Application Form and email it to Pik at mtwaverley@fortemusic.com.au or the office manager at manager.fortemw@gmail.com.
