Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a Soil Technician to join us at our busy laboratory based in Artarmon, NSW to work alongside our internationally renowned Geotechnical experts on exciting major infrastructure projects in transport, energy & water in Sydney and throughout NSW.

This is a fantastic opportunity to draw on your experience or qualifications and develop your career in our wider Geotechnical Engineering team. 

We’re also open to supporting people who are interested in starting a career as a Laboratory Technician in Soil Testing, and we’ll provide the relevant support & training.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Performing soil, rock and aggregate tests in the laboratory in support of geotechnical projects
  • Supporting exciting major infrastructure such as across dams, tunnelling, energy, water and roads
  • Joining our team of specialist geoscience professionals, including engineers, geologists, geophysicists and hydrogeologists
  • Participating in further training and career development

What you will bring to the team:

  • Ideally 2 years’ experience in CMT / geotechnical testing, or a desire to grow a career in this area and develop these skills
  • Certificate 2/3 or 4 laboratory operations applicable to Construction materials testing (preferred, or we are open to supporting you to obtain this as a member of the team)
  • Testing experience in AS1289, AS1141, AS4133 & TfNSW standards, or a desire to develop these skills
  • Ability to understand of testing methods, and to conduct the manual handling requirements of sample preparation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a strong commitment to safety in the workplace
