Your role

Occupational therapists are allied health professionals who assess and assist people living with disability, injury or illness which may impact their ability to complete activities of daily living. As one, you will get to work alongside 80+ other dedicated Occupational Therapists in the ORS NDIS division performing clinical services to participants aged 0-65 with various diagnoses and disability types. More importantly, you will also get to work with an amazing group of clients, playing an integral part in their personal growth and development.

The types of assessments and interventions that you will complete include:

  • Supported Independent Living (SIL) Assessments
  • Sensory Assessments
  • Assistive Technology (AT) Assessments
  • Home Modifications Assessments (including complex)
  • Functional Daily Living Skills Assessments
  • Environmental Risk Assessments
  • Skill building and ongoing therapy

You will work across various environments, including family homes, disability group homes, day programs, schools, community, and/or ORS clinics.

To address barriers to everyday activities, occupational therapists might:

  • Prescribe assistive equipment to help you complete the activities you are having difficulties with.
  • Modify environmental access to increase independence and safety when completing activities.
  • Complete assessments to identify areas of difficulty and make recommendations for a range of supports to overcome these barriers and increase independence.
  • Deliver tailored services to build capacity and skills to complete activities more independently.
