An opportunity exists for someone to learn slate roofing (apprenticeship available also). Full-time employment, continuous work, 9-day fortnight. Realistic, above award wages on offer. You will be working on heritage buildings, mostly in the inner suburbs and Melbourne University with occasional work carried out in regional Victoria and varied locations.
There are too few slate roofers and far too much work. The skills that you will learn with us, will keep you in demand for the whole of your working life.
This is a very satisfying work where you can stand back and say "We did this". The only disadvantages of this job are if it ever stops raining, or people stop building houses, we will be out of work.
I want someone to carry on the good work once I retire. I have previously trained the "apprentice of the year" for roof slating and tiling, and the "best overall apprentice" in Victoria.
