The successful candidate will
- Live locally in the Mornington Peninsula area
- Have general knowledge of fruit trees
Requirements
- Willing to work regularly on weekends and occasionally on public holidays
- General understanding of irrigation and watering systems
- Have a valid driver's licence
- Have a forklift license
- Have a great attitude and passion for horticulture
- Be trustworthy and willing to work independently of supervision
- Demonstrate attention to detail at all times
- Be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Be punctual and reliable
- Willingness to learn
Duties
- Operating a mower - lawn maintenance
- Whipper snipper operation, edging and blowing
- General labour duties and maintenance
- Weeding, pruning, mulching, spraying
- Operating forklift and tractor
- Planting of trees and plants
- Maintaining large number of fruit trees
- Propagation of plants, fruits and vegetables
- Assist with fruit picking and packing during the season (Nov-Jan)
- Maintaining records (computer work)
- Devising and mixing bulk liquid fertiliser recipes
- Implement new growing strategies
