The successful candidate will

• Live locally in the Mornington Peninsula area
• Have general knowledge of fruit trees

Requirements

• Willing to work regularly on weekends and occasionally on public holidays
• General understanding of irrigation and watering systems
• Have a valid driver's licence
• Have a forklift license
• Have a great attitude and passion for horticulture
• Be trustworthy and willing to work independently of supervision
• Demonstrate attention to detail at all times
• Be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Be punctual and reliable
• Willingness to learn

Duties

• Operating a mower - lawn maintenance
• Whipper snipper operation, edging and blowing
• General labour duties and maintenance
• Weeding, pruning, mulching, spraying
• Operating forklift and tractor
• Planting of trees and plants
• Maintaining large number of fruit trees
• Propagation of plants, fruits and vegetables
• Assist with fruit picking and packing during the season (Nov-Jan)
• Maintaining records (computer work)
• Devising and mixing bulk liquid fertiliser recipes
• Implement new growing strategies
