Your role

Working within Robert Bosch's integrated engineering team you will work with customers and across the business to prepare initial control systems concepts, develop that system following order placement, see it through factory testing and assist with the commissioning of the control system on-site.

As an intern, you will bring your expertise in engineering and programming to the role, as we want you to be able to get involved straight away. The tasks you work on will vary as you develop and will be dependent on customer needs, but once you have completed your initial training, typical work expectations include the:

  • Use your knowledge of control theory, electronics, and software design to animate very large, powerful, and precise hydraulic machines.
  • See your machines come alive by assisting with in-house testing and performing site commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Implement control system theory, and closed and open-loop solutions in software.
  • Troubleshoot control system hardware and sensors.
  • Integrate distributed controls using CANBUS or other industrial network protocols.
  • Collaborate with mechanical/hydraulic engineering, sales & customer to bring hydraulic machines into high-performance use.
  • Provide support regarding control issues at customer sites.
  • Become the expert for Bosch Rexroth brand programmable and configurable electronics.

Specific Tasks 

  • Programming Rexroth controllers, HMIs and peripheral devices.
  • Using communications protocol (e.g. CANBUS, EtherCAT, Profinet, Ethernet IP, etc)
  • Development of safety-relevant functional elements.
  • Simulation/testing control and hydraulic systems
  • On-site commissioning

About you

Position Requirements

  • Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen - MUST
  • Completed or working towards a degree in a relevant discipline. E.g. Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic Engineering
  • Experience in programming languages and/or controllers. E.g. Codesys, PLCs, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, C, C++, etc.
  • Ability to logically identify, diagnose and troubleshoot machine faults
