Your role

The program prioritizes the therapist's development at the outset of their career. As the graduate progresses through the program and their learning advances, the Graduate Coordinator and Team Leader will collaborate with them to establish their client caseload.

Your role as a therapist, whilst participating in the graduate program will be to:

  • Deliver therapy to children, young people and adults (their clients) who are experiencing learning, language, sensory, intellectual, physical, and cognitive difficulties.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions
  • Creating opportunities for their clients to build on their strengths, by recognising their goals and developing strategies to achieve long-term solutions.
  • Work with their clients, families, and their support networks formally and informally.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapists

About you

Requirements:

  • Recently completed or will be completing your university studies in Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy in 2024.
  • Resume
  • Academic transcripts (unofficial)
  • Working with Children's Check (Employee)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate
  • Drivers License
  • International Police Check (if you have lived overseas in the last 10 years for a continuous 12-month period)

The items below will be requested during the recruitment process:

  • APHRA registration (Occupational therapy and Physiotherapy)
  • Provisional Certified Practising Speech Pathology (CPSP) membership through Speech Pathology Australia (Speech Pathology)

Training & development

The 12-month graduate program has been specially designed to expand on your university studies, with a dedicated Graduate Coordinator who will be there to support you on your journey.

The purpose of the graduate program is to:

  • Build your clinical knowledge and skills
  • Develop your professional identity
  • Facilitate your connections to the broader therapy team
  • Support your understanding and use of systems and processes
  • Create opportunities for you to contribute to the organisation

The graduate program is structured to seamlessly integrate a therapist's learning and development with their professional role. It dedicates one day per week for twelve months, employing a hybrid delivery method that allows graduates to focus on the weekly topic and engage with their fellow participants. Throughout the program, graduates will have numerous opportunities to hone their professional skills and gain specific clinical knowledge through formal training sessions, workshops, small group activities, and case study discussions.
