Culture at William Buck

9.5
9.5 rating for Culture, based on 47 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
I think this can be quite variable depending on the work area, but in my experience it has been very supportive, cooperative and people are trusted in their work.

Great group of people that care and want you to grow and improve. Very social, company events most months, great work life balance

Strong, collegiate culture that has a good balance of banter but also one that strives to be the best in the mid-market. There is a lack of hierarchy which I appreciate, as it makes speaking to senior leadership easy as opposed to the Big 4, where I've heard it is a lot more hierarchical and people are not able to get one-on-one mentorship with their partners and directors. WB holds many socialising events and cross-team interactions are encouraged through programs such as social club events, colleague luncheons, breakfast carts in the communal kitchen/eating area, end of month drinks and bi-annual firm-wide parties.

We have team meetings twice a week to assess where everyone is at in order to help them remain on task. We have work lunches very often and from the partners to the interns everyone gets along and is happy to chat. Partners and managers will do anything for me and make me feel so welcomed and of use. I rarely know exactly what to do and they are always there to help me along the way and when they review my work they come and speak to me in person to inform me of how to improve which is so effective for my learning and I have endless appreciation for them

As mentioned earlier, the culture at William Buck is top tier. You speak with others in the same industry and none compare. As an example, we recently attended a charity kitchen and even the organisation commented on our teamwork between staff at all levels.

I think amongst my team and the experiences I've had there's a real level of respect amongst the office. Partners are willing to help grads and give them their time, buddies make a real effort to ensure you're alright and feeling comfortable in your role, managers set clear and reasonable expectations of you.

As stated before, I hold the firm's culture in high esteem and I would do very little to change it. In terms of structure and hierarchy, unlike traditional companies, teamwork is encouraged from graduate to partner level - I constantly work with the various roles in my team and engage with my managers and partners to deliver services to our clients. I feel this form of engagement and teamwork enables a higher ability in understanding the work we do for our clients as well as the responsibilities of our seniors.

The culture at William Buck is one of it's main strengths there is a real feeling of growth and community. People during and after hours are always happy to talk and interact with each other. In terms, of hierarchy, William Buck is not too hierarchical as a graduate I am able to often work with and talk to partners on a regular basis.

Both in and out of the office everyone is friendly with one another. I have already made friends with people from all levels in the firm and have gone out with them on weekends and after work. Everyone loves to chat and there is great banter amongst the team and firm.

I think that my company creates a positive work culture by encouraging socializing and harboring good relationships amongst employees. I think that the different levels amongst teams are good as it creates different levels of responsibility and task delegation between team members and from my experience this not encourage negative competitiveness or a negative experience in the teams.

I think the company has a great culture, pretty much everyone is very friendly and great to chat to. There are also plenty of social events where we can connect with colleagues in a slightly less formal setting which makes getting to know your colleagues much easier. This makes working with them more enjoyable

Almost everyone is happy and willing to help out whenever I have a question or query. I am given new opportunities frequently whether it would be training a new staff member on something or becoming a direct contact for a larger client for example.
