WSP Geo-Environmental Engineering

The Geo-Environmental Engineering team develops, designs and delivers subsurface and earth structures that help our clients operate their sites while protecting the environment.

We engineer solutions such as: solids and waste containment cells and capping; groundwater cut off barriers; gas and vapour barriers; liquids containment ponds (water, leachate, brine), wastewater and water management systems, legacy site closure and development, remediation design and ancillary earthworks and instrumentation.  These projects are constructed at mine sites, transportation projects, infrastructure sites, waste management facilities and remediation sites.

Our team includes geotechnical, environmental and civil engineers, CAD designers, waste management specialists, instrumentation specialists, and project and construction managers.  We work together with planning, environmental assessment, hydrogeological, surface water, geotechnical and contaminated lands professionals to develop and deliver our solutions.

Our expertise includes:

• Containment System and Earth Structure Design
• Geosynthetic Materials Engineering
• Detailed Design including Drawings, Specifications and Construction Tender Documents
• Construction Management, Supervision, CQA and Instrumentation
• Construction and Remediation Solutions as Principal Contractor

About you

As a member of our geo-engineering squad, you'll be at the forefront of exciting projects that push the boundaries of what's possible. We're looking for analytical thinkers who aren't afraid to ask tough questions and take responsibility for finding solutions. Your ability to think critically, collaborate with clients and colleagues, and bring fresh ideas to the table will be essential to your success in this role. To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with an expected graduation by March 2025. Applicants with some industry experience will also be considered
• Genuine interest and passion for Geotechnical Engineering and environmental preservation
• Open to a flexible work arrangement that includes time in the office, on-site project work, and remote options as needed to meet project and team requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
• Experience in Slopes Stability modelling is highly advantageous
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
